Saxon短劍刃長18吋, 厚1/4吋, 由1.5吋寬的刀材研磨而成. 刀重為860g, 刀鞘重225g. 是Mad Dog Lab目前可以生產的最長刀種. 跟其他的Mad Dog Knives一樣採用全部硬化及選擇性鍛造, 使得這把刀一樣擁有極佳的耐磨性及兼具高強度. 刀上可以看到鍛造線而不是一般的硬化線. 握柄為雙手握持, 非常舒服並且提供良好的刀刃控制. 這是一把令人驚喜的刀, 做得非常棒且完美, MAD DOG做一把SAXON的時間可以做20把ATAK, 單單SAXON的握把部份就花掉MAD DOG六個小時用手工修磨成型. 而且以18"的刀刃長度要做到MAD DOG的特殊熱處理是很困難的. 同時整把刀的flat ground做的非常平整. 從這把刀上一再看到MAD DOG做刀子的深厚功力.
The Saxon Short Sword is the largest blade that can be produced with the current heat treatment facilities at MD Labs. This amazingly quick combat-ready sword features an eighteen inch (18") blade flatground from 1/4" x 1.5" wide stock and a double handle, the weight of knife is 860g and the sheath is 225g. The grip takes Kevin six (6) hours to grind, shape, and finish. Like all other Mad Dog Knives, it is built with a full hidden tang and a beautiful temperline along the edge. This is indeed an amazing weapon that can only be enjoyed by a select few.
