Voodoo King 1 of 1
Long hidden, the King has returned. The first of the big Voodoo blades was created in 1998 as a one-off piece to showcase the then new Voodoo design (spearpoint with full length false edge) on a large ˇ§pureˇ¨ fighter. It sports a 10.25ˇ¨ blade cut from 1.5ˇ¨ stock with a strong positive included angle. Its creation was a most difficult one; maker Kevin Mad Dog McClung says, ˇ§The Voodoo King was a total PIA to make. It wanted to warp on me while grinding. It is also true that the King nearly died in heat treat. While quenching, it took a bad bow. I spent a lot of furious sweat getting it straight before it finished hardening. The process was so harrowing that I did not attempt another similar blade for a couple of years.ˇ¨-- Tim Tang
